Titans DT Vickerson Suspended Four Games

By Jonathan Hutton December 5, 2008

The NFL suspended Titans
defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson for four games without pay for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.

Vickerson tested positive for the banned diuretic Bumetanide and chose not to appeal the league's decision, meaning he'll miss the rest of the regular season.

Vickerson will be eligible to return on December 29, a day after the Titans conclude the regular season at Indianapolis. He has played in seven of the first 12 games and has 1½ sacks and 23 tackles.

Neither the league or the team comments on the type of violation.

Rookie defensive tackle Jason Jones is expected to return to the lineup Sunday against Cleveland, which would have most likely taken Vickerson's spot on the gameday roster for Week 14.
