Pola Leaves Titans For USC Trojans
Staff Report July 24, 2010
Titans running backs coach Kennedy Pola has accepted the job as offensive coordinator at the University Southern California.
The Tennessean reported Pola accepted the job before Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin called Titans head coach Jeff Fisher regarding the matter.
''I am very disappointed in Lane Kiffins approach to this, Fisher told The Tennessean. ''Typically speaking when coaches are interested in hiring or discussing potential employment from coaches on respective staffs there is a courtesy call made from the head coach or athletic director indicating there is an interest in talking to the assistant.
''So I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism on behalf of Lane, to call me and leave me a voice mail after Kennedy had informed me he had taken the job. It is just a lack of professionalism,'' Fisher told The Tennessean.
Pola's decision to leave Nashville came one week before training camp was scheduled to begin for the Titans. Fisher told the paper he planned to fill the position by a coach already on staff.
The Titans hired Pola to coach the running backs in January after deciding to part ways with Ernest Byner.
