Young Avoids Suspension

Staff Report July 29, 2010

Titans quarterback Vince Young will not face suspension by the NFL after his role in a Dallas night club incident on June 13.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean, the league office will release a statement concerning Young as early as Thursday. Following the incident, Dallas police cited Young with a misdemeanor assault charge. Young apologized for his role in the incident at a Titans practice on June 14

"Like I said to my teammates I apologized to them, as well as the organization, all my fans, and especially my family and people that look up to me," Young said. "I made a big mistake even being out there."

Shortly after the citation, NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell said he planned to meet with Young about the incident, but hinted that a suspension was unlikely because Young had not been involved in any prior legal trouble.

Young and the rest of his teammates report to Nashville Friday for training camp. The first practice is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Baptist Sports Park.
